Description

In 2009 FHWA released the 2009 version of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), which in 2010 was incorporated into a rule by the Idaho Legislature.  Making this document a requirement for all organizations that manage or own a transportation system in the State of Idaho.  This manual includes all modes of transportation including vehicles, pedestrians, and bicycles.

Employees of those organizations that install, deploy or manage traffic control needs to understand all the Parts of the MUTCD to provide proper guidance to the public and reduce the organizations liability.

Goal of this course is:
-The student will gain an understanding of how each Part of the manual works together,
-What creates a liability for the organization?
-Is a Traffic Control Plan needed for all activity on the transportation system?
-How does the MUTCD protect your employees?

These questions and more will be discussed as a part of this course.

Target Audience

All employees of that work on or with a transportation system.
